RE: Leaky Roadtrek sewer hose

Ask your dealer to order a Thetford Hose. Ours (2007 RT 210P also developed leaks several times however the warranty period had expired. Our Dealer (Van City) advised us to replace with the Thetford which they had placed on a number of Roadtreks with success. The new hose is very flexible, takes up a lot less room in the drawer as it has a good deal of stretch to it. I think even in the winter time, it will hold up and keep it's flexibility. Anyway, so far, so good. It is black, not white like the original hose. We think it will do a good job, long term. We shall see. Don & Jean 2007 Roadtrek 210 Popular DITTO! Don't fool around with Roadtrek's replacement hoses as we've had each one leak! The Thetford seems the way to go! (Hi Don;))DITTO! RE: Where do you store your wine?

We purchased neoprene "bottle totes".They have them at Camping World website (search for bottle totes)but they are way expensive. I've found them at Marshall's, Ross and Home Goods for about 1/3 of Camping World's price. I use my bottom kitchen drawer as my "wine rack" and store 6-8 bottles (in the totes) in the drawer or any place really as they are protected by the neoprene.

RE: Any Volkswagen Campmoblie Rvers?

We've had two Westy campers. First one was a 1981 air-cooled. When VW came out with a water-cooled engine we traded in for a 1986 which we still own with 102,000 miles on it. Still runs like a champ. Our daughter wants it but I'm not ready to part with it yet.:W

RE: Hole in sewer hose

I am going over to the coast of CA next week (escape this heat) and will be able to go to a RT service provider in Oxnard, and probably get that little hose replaced with 5 days to spare on my warranty! We had our macerator hose replaced at Playtime RV in Oxnard with a Thetford sani-con hose. It's very pliable and we hope it will not leak as our original hose did.

RE: Southern Oregon & Coast - Campgrounds/Attractions

We were able to get a cancellation at a couple of Oregon State Parks in June/July last year. We also found several that were not full every night. Umpqua Lighthouse State Park was a less crowded one. Up the Rogue River about seven miles out of Gold Beach is Four Seasons RV Resort. We really enjoyed this spot. The jet boats will pick you up right at the park! Four Seasons RV Resort

RE: campgrounds with a view

The Aune-Osborn Campground in Sault Ste. Marie, MI overlooking 1000' ships traveling up and down the St. Mary's River through the Soo Locks. Beautiful riverfront sites with nice people and very new, clean restrooms. Short walk to the Soo Locks Boat Tours. Aune-Osborn Campground

RE: Space saving storage idea

For storing clothes, we use those Eagle Creek "Pack It Folders". They are pricey, but have a lifetime guarantee. I put all shirts in one, pants in another, etc. They store very flat or on their sides. You don't have to root around or have it all fall out when you open the cupboard. Easier than clear storage bins. They have a "board" that you use to fold so there is minimal wrinkling. They're made for using in suitcases. We took clothing for the two of us for nine days (both for cold and for warm weather) in our RT 210 for a six week trip. Luckily we had both as temps went from 104 in Zion to snow in Yellowstone! RE: Looking for recommendations for Las Vegas and Zion

We stayed at Sam's Town in May . . you can detour local traffic to get there and it is quiter than ones on the strip. Watchman CG in Zion is hot, hot, hot (104 in May). We were assigned a site with absolutely no shade and our A/C struggled. Left early for cooler climate. Snow in Tetons and Yellowstone!

RE: Morro Bay RV park?

Morro Bay State Park is nice . . . . often filled, though. They have a few with hook ups but they go quickly. Probably need a reservation. (ReserveAmerica)

RE: Does anyone check out the site before paying?

We just returned from a six week trip. I'd never checked out the restrooms prior to check-in before, but after a couple of "iffy" campgrounds we started checking them out before checking in! Good Sam is usually reliable, but a couple of their 8 or 9 ratings were questionable in my view. We also learned to pay for one night at a time even if we plan to stay a few days, unless they look like they may fill up! We were checking into one in Michigan for three nights when I leapt out and said "let's just book for one night!" Glad we did. Didn't care much for it and moved to a better place the next day.

RE: Good KoA report

Colorado Springs South KOA is a good place to stop. They have a small cafe offering dinner and breakfast which was very inexpensive! Seemed to be well run and was just $27.00 a night!

average campground cost on 6 week trip

We just returned from a six week trip and I decided to tally up our public and private campground/RV Park costs for 32 nights in 14 different states (the remaining 10 days we spent with friends and relatives). The average cost per night was $29.72. The low was $9.00 at Zion National Park with a senior discount and the high was $46.11 at Grand Teton National Park's Colter Bay RV CG. Some were KOAs which we normally dislike, but they were all surprisingly under $30.00 (and one even served breakfast and dinner at a nominal fee). Most offered Good Sam or FMCA discounts. Our favorite was Yellowstone's Edge RV Park outside of Billings, Montana. A beautifully managed, exceptionally clean park right on the Yellowstone River in Paradise Valley and Aune-Osborne Campground on the St. Mary's River in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. We'd also recommend Santa Fe Skies RV Park in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

RE: Hobbies and other interests

Reading, hiking, Genealogy research and American History. Next big trip . . . . . Civil War Battlefields. We also like to stay a night in Grand Old Lodges & Hotels (The Ahwahnee, El Tovar, etc. just stayed in Old Faithful Inn and Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island). We can afford to splurge with one night in the hotel/lodge then on to the campground!

RE: teton and yellowstone

We are headed about the same time you are. We are leaving Orange County early next Friday Morning and spending the first night in Hurricane and then Hwy 9 into Zion and on to Hwy12 and Yellowstone. Maybe we will see you along the way. Look for us . . . 3 nights at Watchman CG in Zion then on to Yellowstone! Ann
